Thanksgiving

Nine months ago, it was thanksgiving and me, Josh, and Kevin started to play catch but I didn’t know what was going to happen next.

When we went to play catch. I asked if they wanted to do a contest. I announced “whoever catches ten one handed catches first wins”. The very first throw Josh bobbled it and Kevin snagged it from him. Ten minutes later the score was Kevin 7 Josh 4. Kevin won 7-10.

Kevin asked me if I could catch a punt. Kevin kicked it a little too far and I dove for the ball. Tic, tic, tic, tic, tic, and tic, I had fallen in a thorn bush. I walked up to the deck and asked where was the peroxide. My mom guided it to me and she poured it on my cuts. After that my skin started to bubble. I walked in the living room and my dad asked me why I wasn’t playing catch. I told him what had happened and showed him my cuts. When I held up my shirt ,And then Mama looked over ,and yelled. “Oh Dear Lord, Oh Dear Lord.” I shrieked is it bad. My dad commanded” be quiet” to Mama “Oh okay” she assured. Then, it started to heal and went to go play catch again. It started to get late and I learned to always stay cautious.

What I Learned about the Holocaust Study

I learned that Hitler didn’t like Jews because he thought every Jew was mean because that one Jew said he wasn’t good at art. Hitler killed six million jews from that, but some Jews didn’t act like that and that’s what Hitler didn’t see. The holocaust started January 30, 1933 and ended May 8, 1945. During, that time lots of Jews were either starved to death or shot. Most Jews died in death camps.

The Jews should have left when the Nazi’s came to power, but they were trying to be patriotic citizens.Jews didn’t leave because it was hard to leave their homeland , and the Jews helped each other any way they could. 10,000 Jews died trying to fight. The Jews were very brave to fight against the Germans.

Diary

Dear Diary,

I was going to race Annemarie ”Oh ok” I said. Get ready get set “Go”. That was when everything happened. and I was very scared what had happened today I was scared because I was stopped by two soldiers with rifles in their hands today, and I didn’t want the soldiers to know I was Jewish because I didn’t want to end up like the other people that they’ve found that were Danish. I am still terrified because I don’t want them to come look for me and take my family.
I don’t know if I have won or lost the race.

Until I write again goodnight,
Ellen

Tsunami Surge

Sploosh! I heard a person going down the water slide. We were waiting in line to get our wristbands, then something caught my eye. It was the the Tsunami Surge, the fastest family slide in all of Texas. I told my mom we had to ride it and she said at the end. We have rode all the slides in all of the park. They were all very fun but Tsunami Surge was just drilled in my head.

Finally, we saw it and I was jumping for joy. We finally got there and the Tsunami Surge was so high, it was touching the clouds. We walked up 8 flights of stairs and we weren’t even half way. We finally made it and I felt like I walked half across the country. We were fifth to last and the line was taking forever.”It was about time,”I said to myself. We were second in line, and I was on my toes.

It was finally time and the lifeguard escorted us to the float. Then, when everyone got settled he gave us a big push and we were off. I had a big smile on my face when we were going down and when we hit a bump we flew right off. When we hit a bump I was having the time of my life.

Sploosh! We fell in the water. I had a really fun time and I won’t ever forget it. I thanked my parents for letting me have a great day. Then, I asked if we could come back next year.
